Vote for Angela!

While channel surfing over the weekend I had the pleasure of stumbling across the U.S. Women's Hockey Team's game with Germany. The U.S. is one of the top-tier teams in the world and it showed. At the end of the first period, the U.S. had 20 shots on goal to Germany's 1. That's brutal. The final score of 5-0 is deceptive. The final SOG tally was 60-10. Our next game is Tuesday against Finland, a much superior team than the previous two opponents. It will be the first real test for the U.S. team. Anyway, great game. But equally impressive was how the players conducted themselves in interviews between periods and post-game. Every single player I saw came across as intelligent and gracious, managing to be competitive without the arrogance that so often seems to go hand in hand with superior athletic abilities. At the risk of sounding corny they are great representatives for the U.S. and women's hockey. One of the players, Angela Ruggiero, is blogging her Olympic experience. Her photos page is awesome. It gives you a good idea of the level of skill and strength needed to play women's hockey at the world level, as well as a sense of genuine camraderie among the players and how much they love the game. Angela is also one of a group of U.S. Olympians gunning for a spot on The Apprentice. And while I think she's way too good for the Trumpster, she really wants it. So do what I did and go here and vote for Angela. She's currently in the lead with 38% of the vote, don't let her fall behind.
